Gilla: Help Help/Say Yes [The Marek Mixes] (Super Sound Single) (1976/77)
Although Austrian-born Gisela “Gilla“ Wuchinger could not compete with her far more successful label-mates Boney M. and Eruption, she still had some disco hits in Europe. From her first album, her German version of La Belle’s Lady Marmalade was a modest hit with its (of the time) bold lyrics “Do you want to sleep with me?“, but it was Tu es! (Do It!) that gave her a German Top 10 which was one of Frank Farian’s 3 simultaneous Top 10 hits alongside his own Rocky and Benny’s Amigo Charly Brown, before Boney M.’s Daddy Cool took off like a rocket. Gilla’s follow-up single Ich brenne (I’m Burning) was only a small hit in Germany but the English version Help Help was a Top 20 hit in Holland. Her second album Zieh mich aus (released January 1977) and selected tracks from her first album were recorded in English for her third album Help Help, released in the summer of 1977.
