Bobby Fischer cracks computer programmer’s Winawer

Featured is the chess game between Bobby Fischer and Klaus Darga from 1960. Out of the French Winawer we quickly observe the commonplace imbalances with the pawn structure and minor pieces. Fischer’s eye is on deploying his dark-squared bishop on a3 where it knifes into Darga’s kingside, and intersects with the e5-pawn along the way. Darga, a computer programmer by profession, chooses an opposite sides castles game; this would essentially be his downfall.
