SKIATHOS 2019 - LOWEST LANDING EVER? The EUROPEAN ST. MAARTEN (4K)

Skiathos Airport or as many of us aviation enthusiasts call it “the european St Maarten“ is one of the craziest airports in europe. Airplanes land and depart right behind a small road and the airport of Skiathos became one of the main tourist attractions of the greek island. Low landings and jetblasts can be observed on a daily basis and last week we filmed an incredible low British Airways Embraer E190 landing. The people who were watching the planes were pushed from the wall by the wake turbulence of the Embraer. We visited Skiathos for the fourth time in four years cause it` s one of the most amazing places worldwide if you are interested in aviation and spectacular approaches. Somtimes, when the weather is good up to 100 people show up behind the runway to watch the planes land and depart. The biggest airplane which is allowed to land at the airport is a Boeing 757. That` s why you won` t see any Boeing 747`s or Airbus A330` s land on this island. That` s the main advantage of Maho Beach in St Maarten, but in my opinion the planes in Skiathos land even lower than at SXM. Thanks for watching, I hope you liked our Skiathos 2019 video.
