Artist: Minayo Watanabe (渡辺美奈代) Song: Amaryllis (アマリリス) Ai upscaled fps and resolution only. No Ai face restoration. Is face restoration good? It is, but it has a problem. Even a small alteration in a familiar face can give one the sense that something is off. Comparing a fair quality original video side-by-side to its face enhanced counterpart (which I did for this video) reveals the reason. The eye shape in the Face Restoration video is often overly rounded or too smoothly arched from its true shape. Also light and shadow can slightly change the shape of the nose in certain frames. This can often be an acceptable tradeoff, but if the facial data quality is good enough through all or most of the video, then it might be best to skip the face restoration and just rely on the general Ai resolution upscale. Positive though, is that Ai face restoration is a young technology and it will get better. In order to illustrate the point, I intend to post a video showing the side-by-side comparison of either this video or another.
