Superior Labrum Tears in the Shoulder: Controversies and Consensus
This episode of Grand Rounds discusses superior labrum anterior posterior tears (SLAP tears) of the glenoid labrum. The goal is to present viewers with what a SLAP tear is, describe how it occurs, and what it looks like on physical exam and MRI. Currently, orthopaedic surgeons are repairing SLAP tears at a rate much greater than the literature would suggest. The speakers present a patient specific treatment strategy, and elucidate which types of SLAP tears should be repaired and those that should be treated
