Song originally performed by Fairuz Lyrics: Rahbani Brothers Music: Ziad Rahbani This special collaboration between Nai Barghouti & Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra took off from a mutual love and passion for the music of none other than Fairuz. Born as Nouhad Haddad in 1935 she became an icon from the 1960s. Fairuz became known as the “First Lady of Lebanese singing”. Fairuz is a living legend and considered by many as one of the leading vocalists and most famous singers in the history of the Arab world. Her songs are constantly heard throughout the region, and still spark Lebanese national pride. The song Habbo Baadon was released on the album Mais El Rim in 1975. The Rahbani brothers, Assi and Mansour worked with Fairuz. During this period the Rahbani brothers wrote and composed for her hundreds of famous songs, most of their operettas, and 3 motion pictures. The Amsterdam Andalusian Orchestra considers it a huge responsibility and honor to present these icons and their legacy. It is part of the AAO-tutorials program and aimed at introducing viewers and musicians to repertoire that stretches from Granada to Baghdad.
