Tabea Zimmermann and Kirill Gerstein record “Sonatas for Viola and Piano Vol. 2“

ECHO Klassik 2010 “Artist of the Year“ Tabea Zimmermann and 2010 Gilmore Artist Kirill Gerstein record their second album for myrios classics (MYR008, SACD hybrid). The new album includes the f minor sonata op. 120/1 by Johannes Brahms, Franz Schubert’s “Arpeggione“ sonata and César Franck’s sonata in A major, played on the viola (arr. by Tabea Zimmermann). Recording sessions and interview were taped in July 2011 at Deutschlandfunk Cologne.
