Camille Bigeault - Dancing in the Flood (Live at Bagshow 2022)

Hi guys! Long time no see! Here is a composition I played at the Bagshow (Paris drum festival) in October 2022. This same live version is available today on all streaming platforms! Long story short, these last few years I had the thought that drum shows missed something, that people left the shows impressed and inspired to work even harder, but there wasn’t “the thing“ that gave them sparks in the eyes, that really brought people away, made them travel, like during a music show. On my side, I have always composed pop/folk guitar-voice songs on a hand, and prog-rock songs for drums on the other hand. With this song, I tried to reunite both universes, hoping to bring something new with the rhythmic/technical side of the drums and the dreamy/musical side of the voice. “Dancing in the flood“ is about the world we currently live in. Sometimes we can look around and think it’s totally crazy, wrong and going upside down. But in the middle of this mess, I think that deep down we all look for the same fundamental values, love, creation, inspiration, , and everything that brings us joy and lifts us up. Doing things that vibrate in us - that comes from the heart, is maybe what will save us eventually. I played this song for the first time at the Bagshow drum fest and the Tam Tam drum fest, and I was very surprised with how greatly it was received from the audience. The feedback I had for this song is absolutely amazing, thank you all a lot for that! A lot of you guys asked me to release it on the streaming platforms, so here it is. I couldn’t post the video on my youtube channel before because I didn’t have it. For those who discover the song, I really hope you will like it! It’s also available Bandcamp, where you can support me buying the track for the amount you choose! Huge thanks to Thierry Lalite and @LaBaguetterieParis that produced the video (and for this amazing Bagshow!) #bagshow2022 Video editing: Jean Luc Dehayes Audio mix: Gabriel Leymarie and Clément Poilane Lyrics: How do you feel In this realm without meaning? Is this real? In this place I’m not so sure, I can’t see clear I can’t wake, can hardly believe it Where is home? Why am I here? I can’t grasp, or relate To how it is working But I can feel you running in my blood Like two fools, we are just dancing in the flood The wind’s blowing you like a thousand grains of sand Sparkling in his eyes, at the edge of his hands How do you feel In this realm without meaning? Are you tired? Are you here? Close your eyes, try to breathe Is this real? In this place I don’t fit, I can’t wake Are you scared? Can you stand? Bring yourself to this world (superimposed verse) Is it this threat we are all feeling? Is it the mess we’re all stepping in? Is it this air that makes us ill? Did you know words can also kill? Is it this food that cannot feed us Is it this race we’ll never win or Our own reality deluding us Diving into screens so deep we’ll lose ourselves But I can feel you running in my blood Like two fools, we are just dancing in the flood The wind’s blowing you like a thousand grains of sand Sparkling in his eyes, at the edge of his hands I can feel it inside my heart, feel it inside my heart, feel it inside my heart There’s something wrong I can feel it inside my heart, feel it inside my heart, feel it inside my heart It’s upside down, down, down, down... There’s something wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong... Mais j’peux te sentir couler dans mes veines Comme deux fous nous dansons au milieu de l’arène Le vent te disperse comme des milliers de grains de sable J’te vois dans ses yeux, dans ses mains, c’est palpable But I can feel you running in my blood Like two fools, we are just dancing in the flood The wind’s blowing you like a thousand grains of sand Sparkling in his eyes, at the edge of his hands How do you feel In this realm without meaning? ----------------------------------- Don’t forget to subscribe to get noticed for future videos ;) You can support my work here: -------------------- 𝐒𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐬 --------------------------------------------------- Facebook: Instagram: #dancingintheflood #camillebigeault
