Moldovan presidents dog bites Austrian head of state

When Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen tried to pet Codrut, a three-legged rescue dog belonging to Moldovan President Maia Sandu, he got a bit overexcited and ended up biting him on the finger. (We should clarify that the dog bit Van der Bellen, not the other way round.) Sandu immediately apologized, explaining that Codrut became scared and overwhelmed by so many new people around him, and not that Van der Bellen looked like a sausage. Van der Bellen later appeared with a bandage on his hand, while Codrut, adopted by the Moldovan president after he was hit by a car, has become a bit of an online celebrity. Sadly Codrut was not available for comment or petting.
