This is a tidied-up version of the Facebook Livestream presentation given by Nidavellnir, on 11th April 2021. This public presentation will discuss the archaeological artifacts present for Viking-Age Nalbinding within the 8th-11th Century AD, in a variety of geographical locations and contexts. This public presentation has been created to inform a basic introduction as to the existence of nalbinding as an ancient craft, with early pre-viking examples. Followed by a list of a few of the archaeological examples that exist for nalbinding during the historical “Viking-Age“. This is not a comprehensive list, as research is still ongoing. However, this presentation aims to highlight collections and archaeological themes that have been present within this field of study, so that viewers can go and visit the collections or carry out their own research into this ancient fibre-craft.
