’Vyklej’ for ’Koljady’ in Bodanywka (Bahdanawka), made by Vasil’ Maksimavich

Vasil’ Maskimavich (Васіль Максімавіч), the local artist and artisan, shows the traditional way people would go door by door in Bodanywka during Kolyady (Orthodox Christmas). The ’vyklej’ or star he’s holding is hand made, and is unique in the whole Polesie, as it is the only one with rotating figures inside it.
