Persecutory object is an internal object that represents the intimate partner or others. If others, the intimate partner can collude in the delusion or oppose it. If she opposes it, she becomes the persecutory object. If the intimate partner is the persecutory object, she can collude (accept her role and act accordingly to conform to expectations) or oppose it by redirecting the suspicions at others, including family members.
