Komiya’s Garage Work EK9 - Tsukuba’s Fastest B18

In this video we visit our old friends Iwata and Kubo at Garage Work, the famous Honda builder in Ichihara City, Chiba. It has been several years since I visited the shop, and it was nice to just hang out and catch up. Kubo was replacing the tie-rod ends on Komiya’s EK9 because at last weeks Zummy event he said he felt some shaking with the steering. Turns out the spherical joints had some play in them. Komiya recently set a new personal best in the Civic with a at TC2000, solidifying him as the fastest Civic with a B series. Last season his motor blew, and for this season it has been replaced with a B16 block stroked to 1.8 liter. The new block was built by Impact!, the Kyoto based engine builder. The addition of Toda ITB’s also bumped his power up another 20ps. While I was there I played around with the video features on the new Nikon Z7II.
