π—£π—’π—Ÿπ—œπ—¦π—› π—›π—˜π—₯π—œπ—§π—”π—šπ—˜ π—œπ—‘ π—”π—­π—˜π—₯π—•π—”π—œπ—π—”π—‘ AGHABALA GULIYEV HOUSE IN BAKU The building was built in 1899 and was designed by the Polish architect Eugeniusz SkibiΕ„ski. Construction was commissioned by the influential entrepreneur and philanthropist Aghabala Guliyev. Its exterior design was inspired by the stunning Shirvanshahs Palace in the Baku’s Old City. SkibiΕ„ski’s style has a strikingly Oriental feel, which reflects his admiration of the medieval arΒ¬chitecture of the Absheron region. The building is romantic-orientalist in style. Its construction influenced the development of this style in the city’s architecture. The building now houses the Union of Architects. The building’s architect, a talented Pole Eugeniusz SkibiΕ„ski, designed around 250 buildings in Baku. H
