greek tango 1937, dusk is falling, νυχτώνει, , Danae

Tango recorded in 1937 by mr. Velvet Voice of the 30´s Panos Visvardis and Danae a famous greek singer-writer-musician lady. As you see the rythme is slow and soft, not at all accentuated. Greek tangos are written in this pattern, emphasis is given in romance and nostalgy. The rythme was never breath-taking, flamboyant since the greeks use to dance tango in three boringly repeated steps, two forwards-one backwards. It was just an excuse to hold the lady in the arms. ´Nyhtónei` is a sad tango (what a surprise!) by Themis Naltsas. The setting is a cold and dark evening when the tenor is lamenting, his heart bleeding for his lost love (what a surprise!!).
