Lupita Nyong’o on embracing role outside her comfort zone for The Wild Robot

Watch more on Independent TV: Lupita Nyong’o has opened up about how filming The Wild Robot made her step out of her comfort zone. The new animated film — based on the 2016 book by Peter Brown — follows a robot named Roz (Nyong’o) who is shipwrecked on a deserted island and must adapt to its new surroundings by establishing relationships with the native animals including an orphaned gosling Brightbill (Kit Connor), fox Fink (Pedro Pascal), and goose Longneck (Bill Nighy). Speaking at London Film Festival on Sunday, 13 October, Nyong’o toldThe Independent: “I was actually out of my comfort zone making this movie. “And it’s about curiosity and listening and experimentation. I think that’s the best way to adapt.” The Wild Robot, directed by Chris Sanders, is out in the UK on 18 October.
