Harz Mountain Railway - February 2014 Part Two

Further footage from my recent visit to the Harz in Germany. This includes scenes I thought had been lost when my SD card became corrupted but were later recovered. The video starts with some shed scenes at Wernigerode followed by 1898 built Mallet 5902 on a special working near Schierke on . The following day saw two special trains, one from Wernigerode with 1938 built 2-10-2 222 seen at Steinerne Renne. The second special from Nordhausen was hauled by Henschell 0-6-0 6101 built in 1914 and affectionately known as ’Pfiffi’. The two trains were combined for the climb to the Brocken and the pair are seen climbing out of Schierke. The final shot of the special workings sees 99 6101 in the woods between Elend and Sorge. Next are some night scenes at Wernigerode shed including the final train of the day returning from the Brocken and the Mallet arriving and then shunting her train out of the station. Some scenes at Drei Annen Hohne follow before 99 7239 is seen at Elend and 99 7245 between Elend and Sorge, then making a very smart departure from Sorge. 99 7239 is seen arriving and departing Eisfelder Talmuhle and then in the woods between Sorge and Elend. The final three scenes show 99 7237 approaching and departing from Schierke and 99 236 climbing away from there to the Brocken. Apologies for a few wobbles as I was using a light weight tripod due to baggage restrictions.
