Mauna Loa Volcano Eruption Update; New Eruption Occurs, Summit Covered in Lava

On November 27th, the Mauna Loa volcano erupted for the first time in 38 years. As a result, a wide swath of Hawaii’s Big Island, including 50,000 people are at risk of being inundated by lava flows. This video will discuss Mauna Loa’s ongoing eruption which began at its summit just before midnight. Mauna Loa is the world’s largest active volcano and has a chance of threatening the large town of Hilo.
