Directed by Graeme McNaught
“The next in our Keyboard Department’s streamed concerts at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, reflects on a theme near, if not dear, to us all.
Invited to submit collaborative work that focused on “togetherness and separation”, our students came up with ideas that ranged from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to Holst’s musical depiction of The Planets, reaching well beyond the socially distanced confines of the present day.
Beginning with Mercury, the Winged Messenger, and concluding with a Neurotic Concerto for six accordions, the programme weaves a thoughtful and imaginative path through many of the elements that bring and hold us, if separately, together.“
