Full title reads: “Berlin rejoices - wild welcome for Saar voters“. Germany. After the Saar region voted to be governed by Germany (rather than France or the League of Nations), representatives of province are welcomed in Berlin. M/S of crowds waiting on platform of Berlin train station to greet train as it pulls in. Various shots of Saarlanders parading through streets of German capital. Massive cheering crowds greet them. Swastikas can be seen everywhere - on banners hanging from buildings, people waving flags. Troops of German soldiers stand guard. Brief night shot of troops and dignitaries on steps of Reichstag. We hear voice of Joseph Goebbels (Minister for Propaganda) giving speech over more shots of crowds and Saarlander’s parade. Note: end of item may be missing - stops very abruptly. AH 2001.
