Györy Ligeti - Étude pour Piano No. 9

In his Piano Études Ligeti was strongly influenced by Nancarrows Studies for Player Piano. Ligeti wanted some of his Études to be transcribed for the Player Piano and he wanted “unplayable“ arrangements. The transcriptions were made in close collaboration with the composer. Nearly all Contemporary Original Compositions for Player Piano were influenced by the genius Studies for Player Piano of Conlon Nancarrow.
