Little Violin Etude No 6 in G Major. Practice Video

Little Etude in G Major for Violin by Fiona Vilnite. Practice video with metronome. This etude in 1st position helps to train string crossings, legato of two notes in a bow and simple harmonics in 1st position. Though rarely employed in the novice repertoire, these harmonics help to train comfort in the left hand on third and fourth fingers and provide an opportunity to compare the movements required to obtain stopped and harmonic notes early in the learning processs. The two double-stops in the etude also provide an opportunity to train a relaxed left hand posture and for the right hand to play deliberately and evenly on two strings at once. This video can be slowed down or sped up as required using the options in the video’s settings. Feel free to repeat and practice areas again that require more detailed practice.
