Taiwan was hit by a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake, damaging buildings and a major highway in Hualien. The fire department reported one building completely collapsed and 15 partially collapsed across Taiwan. Additionally, 67 other buildings suffered various degrees of damage. Rescue efforts are focused on two badly damaged high-rises in Hualien. The “Uran Building,“ a 10-story structure in Hualien, tilted dangerously. Rescue teams are searching for survivors amidst the rubble. Authorities advise caution near damaged buildings to prevent further accidents.
