It could be that today a harpsichord child is born... Il se pourrait qu’aujourd’hui naisse un enfant clavecin ... . . . . . . . . This amazing instrument is a doppelvirginal, also called “Mutter-Kind“: mother and child. It was built in 2012 by Christian Fuchs after a Flemish instrument from the Rückers family of makers of 1623 kept in the Landesmuseum in Stuttgart. This advent calendar was a great journey for me. It was a challenge to get it done. If I was in charge of the tuning of the 24 harpsichords, the setting, the lighting, the editing, and of course the interpretation, I was nevertheless greatly helped. Thanks to Francesco Corti, my harpsichord teacher at the Schola Cantorum, and to Olivier Wyrwas for making me able to play the piece for pedal harpsichord in a few days.
