Exploding sperm whales

In 1997 five sperm whales stranded on the sandy coast of the island Ameland. They were males that choose the wrong direction north of Scotland. Unfortunately there was no possibility to rescue them. They died on the beach and soon after they exploded as a result of internal heating. Some years later we were able to save two sperm whales, almost on the same spot.
