I wasn’t sure what angle exactly to take with this video--there are quite a few videos out there already that explain how to analyse books or literature, and how to read deeper, so today I wanted to cover the two areas I personally find really interesting: narratology and poetics. I took separate courses on these topics during my post grad (the first being ’Advanced Poetics’ and the second being titled just ’Narratology’); of course, I’m not in any way an expert! I have a grad dip in creative writing and did creative writing/English during my undergrad as well. I just love these topics and wanted to have a chat about them. Analysing literature is one of my favourite things in the world (but I do also mention in this video that literature is everything--from YA fantasy to fanfic to Shakespeare).
