A very large and incredible masterpiece by Jan Dismas Zelenka, his, in full Latin title “Missa Circumcisionis Domini Nostri Jesu Christi“ - a Mass composed for the Circumcision of the Lord Jesus Christ, which falls on New Years day, and was composed in 1728, and performed on the following year, and given the timeframe of the celebrations, the music displays a joyous pastoral beauty, especially in the XV (15th) movement, with the 3 Oboes imitating shepherds calls.
