The single ‘ Tie A Yellow Ribbon ‘Round The Ole Oak Tree’ by Tony Orlando & Dawn was released on 19 February 1973, exactly 45 years ago. It reached the top 10 in ten countries, in eight of which it topped the charts. It reached number one on both the US and UK charts for four weeks in April 1973, number one on the Australian charts for seven weeks from May to July 1973 and number one on the New Zealand charts for ten weeks from June to August 1973. It was the top-selling single in 1973 in both the US and UK and topped the Top 40 in Holland on 26 May 1973.
This live version was recorded by AVRO TV during the Live TV show ‘’Grand Gala du Disque’ on 15 February 1974 in the RAI Congres Building, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
