Abandoned Trump Wall | Thousands of unused, rusting steel panels left behind

Steel panels stacked and numbering in their thousands have been left to rust in Pharr, Texas as the Biden administration canceled the Mexican border wall construction contracts back in January. The abandoned panels stretch for miles and were intended for the wall-building project, heavily promoted by Trump with one of the sound bites of the century. They are said to be worth over $100 million, with the suspension of the project estimated to be costing roughly $3 million a day, according to a Senate report. Debates around financing for the contentious ‘build the wall’ policy were omnipresent during Trump’s tenure, though there’s been less questioning over who’s footing the graveyard costs.
