Ovechkin’s Legendary 4-Goal Game vs. MTL (1/31/2008)

January 31, 2008 - If you could single out one game as Alex Ovechkin’s greatest performance, it should probably be this one. Ovi singlehandedly turned an otherwise typical Thursday night game into an all-time classic with a dominating performance. In addition to scoring his second 4-goal game in 34 days, he dished out an assist and delivered 3 thunderous hits to lead the Capitals to an overtime win. It is the perfect encapsulation of the Great 8 at his peak - he could run you over one shift then score on you the next. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he did all this with a broken nose for half the game. It was truly spectacular to watch, and for all the fanfare he gets these days, I hope people never forget how damn unstoppable he was in his early years. This is a higher-quality version of a previous video I made on this game. Shortened it to include only the big plays - goals, assists, hits, shots, etc. If you want to see every shift check out the old version of this video https://youtu.b
