The Real Reason Uganda Passed Tough New Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill.

The Ugandan Parliament just approved a law that would make it illegal for anyone to identify as gay or a member of a sexual minority. In the event that the President of Uganda signs the bill into law, people may be subject to hefty prison sentences. According to the proposed legislation, friends, relatives, and community members will have a responsibility to alert the authorities when someone they know is in a same-sex relationship. The East African nation currently forbids homosexual behavior, but the proposed law would go even further and make it a crime for someone to identify as gay.
