This 1,200-pound, blind bison has become an awesome nanny for animals in need

She went from being shy and lonely to basically being the sanctuary matriarch. Helen was rescued at an auction when she was a baby and she lived with the same person as a companion for almost 13 years. Unfortunately, her human friend got sick and Helen needed a new home. So we stepped up and offered Helen a forever home at Lighthouse Farm Sanctuary. When she first got here, she was a little skittish and afraid of the other animals. She didn’t quite have any experience being around goats or cows or horses, or really any other animals for that matter. So she was quite shy but we could tell she was lonely.
