Giant Filament Eruption at the Sun Just Triggered an Impressive Coronal Mass Ejection

Yesterday, (Jan. 8, 2021) a huge filament of magnetism launched itself into space. Debris from the blast formed the core of a bright coronal mass ejection (CME).
