Prickly Pear Harvest and Preservation for Winter - ASMR (Season 2, episode 6)

Food preservation for winter and possible future food shortages is an important aspect of life for primitive cultures. Extensive winter and spring rains brought an abundant supply of wild foods in these desert mountains. Now it is the end of summer and the harvest season has begun. Join me as I fill my burden basket with a wild harvest and manually process it into a delicious dried candy-like food product that can be stored for a long time. Watch till the end to see some of the other wild foods I’ve collected and prepared and be sure to see the wild scorpion I eat too. Lots of great information, beautiful views and sounds are to be enjoyed in this video.
