Rochester, NY: A police officer was injured during a robbery at the Gates Motel. On Monday morning, police said they received a report of a commotion in the front office of the motel. When they arrived, they found a Jose Garcia, age 39, in the front office area of the motel with a clerk tied to a chair. Police say Garcia was trying to rob the clerk and had choked and threatened to shoot the clerk. According to police, Garcia threatened to shoot the officers while refusing to comply with verbal instruction and continued to resist while being handcuffed. Police deployed a taser and pepper spray before taking the suspect into custody. As a result of the incident a Gates Police Sergeant injured his hand.
