Formed in 2007 in Belgium, the original Akem Manah is a doom metal band known for blending progressive riffs with compelling melodies. They released two albums, “The Testament of Sealant Mound“ and “Beneath,“ before disbanding in 2014. In 2023, former members RD (bass), XDS (vocals, strings, keys), GVC (guitar), and JT (guitar) revived the band. They were joined by legendary drummer EW (Ayreon, Plan Nine, ex-Gorefest), guitarist EP (Victims of Creation, Thy Legion), keyboard player CR (Drift into Black, ex-Grey Skies Fallen), and trumpet player IodB (Stuporous, Detour Doom Ensemble, Avatar). Akem Manah recorded the single “Dreich,“ featuring November’s Doom vocalist Paul Kuhr, in anticipation of a new album set for release in 2025 on Black Lion Records.
