Seitz Violin Concerto No.3 in G Minor (I. Mov) - Sefa Emre İlikli

Seitz is one of my all time favorite violin concertos. 😍 I wanted to play this for a long long time and I finally got the chance! It’s named as a “student“ concerto but I don’t agree with that. It’s more beautiful than most “adult“(?) concertos for me, but it’s mostly played by very young students and they naturally lack the maturity that is necessary to bring out its beauty. And most professional virtuosos don’t record it because it’s seen as a “student“ concerto. I have listened to a lot of performances but only liked one of them (it’s the only other professional recording of this piece, by Hyejin Chung) and it had differences from my score so I decided to record it the way I want it to be played. All the versions by young players make this concerto sound either extremely boring and bland or simply bad (no offense) because they make the students play very slowly so they can manage the various techniques in this concerto.
