During a debate on BBC’s Question Time on Thursday, British columnist Melanie Phillips faced laughter from the audience and pushback from show host Fiona Bruce and Scottish National Party MP Stephen Flynn after saying that Israel is not denying civilians in Gaza access to food. Phillips claimed that Hamas is stealing food from aid trucks and cited undated YouTube videos of food markets in Gaza as proof that Israel is not starving Gaza’s population.
