Spanish Monument in Buenos Aires - Avenida del Libertador

Welcome to the 4k City Walk YouTube channel. On this walking tour of Buenos Aires, we got a close view of a beautiful Spanish Monument in the Capital of Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is located at the intersection of Del Libertador and Sarmiento Avenues, a landmark site in the Palermo, a neighborhood of Buenos Aires. It is commonly referred to as the Monument of the Spanish. The impressive landmark is called Monumento a La Carta Magna y las Cuatro Regiones Argentinas - (Monumento de los españoles). The monument was established in 1908 by the Spanish community in Buenos Aires as part of the Centennial of the May Revolution celebrations. The marble and bronze monument is designed in the shape of a fountain with a plate-shaped pond and a large column as a support for the sculptures and reliefs, ultimately resulting in the allegory of the republic at the top, which she advances like a great matron leading the inhabitants of the country distributed at her feet. Legends carved on the column depict the Motherland’s and the newborn republic’s solidarity. On the southeast face, a part of the Constitution’s Preamble and the text “To the Argentine Nation on its Centenary, for Spain and her Children.“ The allegory of Work is sculpted in marble at the base as if emerging from the pond, while the bronze sculptures of Los Andes, El Rio de la Plata, La Pampa, and El Chaco represent the four Argentine regions at the corners. 🚶‍♂️GPS - Thanks for watching—please 𝒍𝒊𝒌𝒆, 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, and 𝒔𝒖𝒃𝒔𝒄𝒓𝒊𝒃𝒆 as it really does help me out. 💙 ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ 💥Want more?
