#tarfaya #morocco #maroc ABOUT TARFAYA Want to discover Tarfaya? There are a thousand and one ways to experience it. Tarfaya, a jewel still deserted, along the Atlantic coast, to Tarfaya which is worth a detour, between ocean and desert, a universe of truly disconcerting contrasts… Tarfaya away from the world, landlocked city, corridor of the wind, between sea and desert, remains however a small perennial fishing port which faces the Canary Islands. Tarfaya is a city in southern Morocco, called Villa Bens during the Spanish period. It is located on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, 890 km southwest of Rabat, its population is 7,000 inhabitants. Tarfaya is a large city with its history dating back more than two and a half centuries, evidenced by its historical monuments indicating the presence of the colonizing powers as it was occupied in 1882 by the English 2. They built a trading post there called Casa del Mar, which is currently in a complete state of disrepair.
