Konstantin Igumnov plays Anton Rubinstein Impromptu op. 16 no. 1 – live 1947

This is to mark the 150th anniversary–or the sesquicentennial–of the birth of Konstantin Igumnov, one of the great professors of last century. Pianists such as Yakov Flier, Lev Oborin, Maria Grinberg, Rosa Tamarkina, Bella Davidovich, Naum Shtarkman, Yakov Milstein, Evgeny Timakin, Oleg Boshniakovich, Alexander Jocheles and Isaac Mikhnovsky all studied with him.
