Fuengirola is a beautiful town and municipality on the Costa del Sol in the province of Málaga, in the autonomous community of Andalucía in southern Spain. It is located on the central coast of the province and integrated into the region of the Costa del Sol and the Commonwealth of Municipalities of the Costa del Sol Occidental. It is a major tourist resort with more the 8 kilometers (5 miles) of beaches and a medieval Moorish fortress. The area has subtropical Mediterranean climate with temperatures reaching from 18ºC to over 30ºC during the summer. Fuengirola has a number of historical sites and open parks, and as well as the old port that is still used by the local fishermen.
