Desi Marga Adavu Promo 01

Deśi-mārga-aḍavus are a new set of artistically designed movement vocabularies developed by Smt. Nirupama Rajendra, Bharatanrityam and Kathak artiste, Bangalore. Inspired by the reconstruction of the mārga-karaṇas by Padma Bhushan Dr. Padma Subrahmanyam, these new set of movements are created with the aim of blending the deśi movements of Bharatanatyam with their mārga counterparts. The movements shift the dimension of Bharatanatyam from being linear to curvilinear and thus, leads to the participation of the entire body and mind. The movements were named by to Shatavadhani Dr R Ganesh, who also guided the process of developing the movements. Music was composed by Vid. Ranjani Vasuki, Vid. Varijashree, Vid. Raghuram and Vid. Praveen D Rao based on its feel and purpose of creation. Deśi-mārga-aḍavus is an offering to the field of Indian classical dance by and Shri Rajendra. Credits : Music : Vid.
