Authorities Fortify Security at Pro-Monarchy Protest Site in Nepal

Kathmandu (Nepal), Nov 28 (ANI): Amidst the ongoing pro-monarchy protests in Nepal, the police on Nov 25 beefed up security measures, deploying sniffer dogs to the protest venue to avert any potential threats and ensure public safety. This heightened security follows recent clashes between pro-monarchy protesters and police, raising concerns about the possibility of further violence. Along with security officials, dogs were also positioned at the rooftops in the close proximity of the venue in order to enhance the surveillance. Dozens of rounds of tear gas were released to control the situation. Police started arbitrary arrests of suspected protesters. Cracking down on the pro monarchists the Nepal Police on Nov 24 alone had arrested a total of 261 protestors who were eventually released by end of the day. Case has been registered against 5 other pro monarch protestors, as per the Police official.
