Music and vocals by Farya Faraji, lyrics based on medieval Tamil poetry of the Sangam literature. I wanted to move away from the Sanskrit, religious focused themes of my last two previous attempts at tackling the incredibly rich landscape of Indian music, and decided to move southwards, towards the music of Tamil Nadu, one of the southernmost parts of the subcontinent.
Whilst Sanskrit literature and language are well known and celebrated, for good reason, it is my personal opinion that the Tamil language and civilisation are worthy of the same level of admiration and prestige, and in no way lesser than Sanskrit.
