Eimear Quinn THE VOICE A Cappella

Eimear Quinn won the Eurovision song Contest for Ireland in 1996 with Brendan Graham’s song THE VOICE. On the 25th anniversary we share this solo voice, a cappella version to celebrate Eimear’s deep relationship with the song, and her friendship with Brendan. The song marked the beginning of Graham’s exploration of Ireland’s history, particularly the Great Famine (An Gorta Mór) through music, poetry, and prose. You can learn more about that here Eimear has said on many occasions that the song has been a blessing to her, and that she has grown with it over her the course of her career, as she expresses in this haiku. This song has sung me;⁣⁣ each sweet note and syllable,⁣⁣ for twenty five years. ⁣⁣ Recorded by David McCune, Ventry Studios, County Dublin.
