Houthis use new naval drone to attack vessel in Red Sea

Yemen’s Houthis have released footage of what they say is a June 23 attack on the Liberian-flagged ‘Transworld Navigator’ vessel in the Red Sea, using their latest unmanned surface vessel (USV). The footage appears to show the USV, armed with explosives, making its way towards the ship before exploding near the bow. According to Houthi-affiliated media in Yemen, the locally-produced USV can carry a warhead weighing between 1,000 and 1,500 kg, and has a top speed of 45 nautical miles per hour. This was the second Houthi attack on the Transworld Navigator in two days, with the group also claiming to have attacked the vessel with multiple missiles while it was in the Arabian Sea, over alleged links to Israel.
