WAKI GATAME (Armpit armlock) DRILL to DEFLECT a head punch & take down/restrain

Judo’s famous armlock take down is waki-gatame. Here it is with a head punch deflection entry, drilled for high speed attackers, don’t forget to drill both sides. Used this many times, (as have the security employees I trained) it has been well tested on the job. Against a trained punch high speed jab, it is not the answer, but against 95% of strikers, who truly commit to the strike, it is excellent.
