9th session of World Weightlifting Championships 1990 (Budapest, Hungary). In the 110kg’s category bulgarian world & european champion Stefan Botev wanted to break Zakharevich c&j world record with 252,5kg. It wasn’t successful, but Botev wins the overall gold with 50KG (!) gap! ENGLISH DUB! After competition interviews: Gold medalist - Stefan Botev (BUL, 22 yo.): “Sadly, my opponents weren’t strong enough to make a great battle. Maybe the mood of the crowd also had effect to my world record attempt.
