Mazaher at the Makan

Mazaher are a small group of mainly women musicians and singers who play zar music: ritualistic songs and polyrhythms which are used as a purification ritual to help pacify and cleanse peoples spirits. Filmed at the Makan, Cairo in MAy 2008.
